MSC raises US-Med rate US$250 per TEU, $350 per FEU July 1

GENEVA-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) announced a general rate increase of US$250 per TEU and $350 per FEU on all shipments to the United States to western Mediterranean from July 1.

Shipments to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, Canary Islands and the south of France (Marseille-Fos, Montoir and Le Verdon) will be affected because freight rates are "no longer sufficient given current demand and costs," said the carrier.
