FRENCH carrier CMA CGM has announced rate increases and peak season surcharges on a wide range of services starting June 1.
There will be a peak season surcharge levied on cargo from north Europe to the east coast of South America of EUR250 (US$305.46) per TEU (euro denominated rates) and $325 per TEU on (US denominated rates)
There will also be a peak season surcharge of $100 per TEU applied on all cargo from Asia to north Africa, that is, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Morocco.
As for rate hikes, from the US Gulf, the US east and west coasts to Australia and New Zealand there will be an increase of US$150 per TEU and $300 per FEU starting next month.
From the US east, west and Gulf coasts to the Mediterranean (including the west and east Med, Adriatic, Black Sea, north Africa as well as the Indian subcontinent, Middle East Gulf and Red Sea, there will be the following rate increases:
To the Med and Indian subcontinent, there will be an increase of $200 per TEU for all types cargo except reefers, and $250 per FEU, again excluding reefers.
To the Mideast, Arabian Gulf and Red Sea, there will be a rate increase of $150 per TEU excluding reefers and $200 per FEU excluding reefers.
From the US east, west and Gulf coasts to north Europe, the Baltic, Scandinavia, UK, Ireland, there will be a rate increase of $200 per TEU excluding reefers and $300 per FEU excluding reefers.
From Asia to west Africa, there will be a rate increase of $250 per TEU on all types of cargo.
From north Europe to the Far East, there will be a rate increase on all cargo of $200 per TEU and $100 per FEU.
From UK north continent to the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea there will be an increase of $100 per dry TEU and $200 per dry FEU and 40-foot high cube.
