Hamburg Sud restores Asia-Latin American capacity to pre-crisis levels

HAMBURG SUD and CCNI (Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica) have announced their decision to restore capacity to pre-financial crisis levels in the trade between Asia, Mexico and South American West Coast.

They say recovering market volumes have encouraged the two shipping companies to offer a "more complete service package".

From June, the service will consist of String 1 of eleven 4,200-TEU ships calling at Yokohama, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen-Yantian, Hong Kong, Manzanillo (Mexico), Lazaro Cardenas, Callao, Iquique, Puerto Angamos, Valparaiso, Lirquen, Lazaro Cardenas and back to Yokohama.

String 2 with 10 vessels averaging 2,700 TEU will have the following port rotation: Keelung, Hong Kong, Shanghai, (Moji), Busan, Manzanillo (Mexico), Buenaventura, Guayaquil, (Iquique), Port Angamos/Antofagasta, Valparaiso and back to Keelung.
