OOCL levies emergency charge March 1-20 on PDR-Canada cargo

Feb 22, 2010 Shipping

HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) is expected to levy an "emergency relief" surcharge from March 1-20 on shipments from Hong Kong, Macau and south China to Canada.

The surcharge of US$320 per TEU, $300 per FEU, $340 per 40-foot high cube and $380 per 45-footers applies to all dry and reefer cargo. While it was reported as such in Newark's Journal of Commerce, there was no confirmation on the company website though it is rare that OOCL posts such notices.
