On Monday, 31st March, the vessel Un Trieste of the Turkish ship-owner UN Ro-Ro was secured alongside at the Ro-Ro ramp of the Container terminal (her sister ship Und Adriyatik was destroyed in a blaze west of Istrian coast in early February 2008). With an over-all length of 193 meters is the largest ship of such type ever moored in the Port of Koper.
The ship performs a weekly service between Istanbul and Trieste, but this time switched her route to Koper due to some operational difficulties in Trieste. In Koper the ship unloaded and loaded 45 truck trailers. Such cooperation between ports is common - usually because of unexpected events or lack of space a quick solution is imperative and proves that cooperation between Koper and Trieste is not only on a declarative scale.
