Maersk's head of New Zealand operations is changing as part of the culling of Maersk staff and the contraction of the number of the carrier's regions worldwide, according to a news report from the country.
Tony Gibson previously headed Maersk's Oceania region, but it will now be led by Julian Bevis, who led Maersk's operations in India. Maersk's New Zealand operations will now be handled from Singapore. The Danish carrier handles about 40 percent of New Zealand's container cargo.
