MOL now China-India consolidator for NY fashion, footwear firm

HONG KONG's MOL Consolidation Service Limited (MCS), has been appointed as New York based footwear and fashion designer company Steve Madden's sole buyer's consolidator in China and India, announced its Japanese parent Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

"We chose MCS over other consolidators because they have the level of organisational commitment and collaboration that we were looking for," said Steve Madden vice president Sanjeev Sahni. "We're serious about just-in-time service. MCS understands this and brings urgency to our shipments."

The MCS will provide origin cargo consolidation, carrier management, supply chain oversight, and importer security filing services to the fashion and footwear company, the statement said.

Steve Madden Ltd, which designs, sources, markets and sells fashion footwear, apparel and accessories had net sales of US$457million in 2008.
