Mar 27, 2008 Shipping

ANL Singapore, China Shipping Container Lines and Orient Overseas Container Line are set to introduce bigger and faster ships on to their joint weekly Far East/Australia AANA service.

From May, the upgraded AANA service will operate with five 4,250-TEU vessels on a 35-day round-trip voyage calling Yokohama, Osaka, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and back to Yokohama. The service has deployed six 2,500-TEU vessels on a 42-day round-trip.

This will significantly reduce the transit times from major Asian markets to the East Coast of Australia by an average of four days, OOCL said in a statement.
