THE North Asia New Zealand Discussion Agreement (NANZDA) has announced a rate increase US$300 per TEU and $600 per FEU on top of existing ocean freight charges on cargo from mainland China and Hong Kong to ports and points in New Zealand starting November 1.

The NANZDA rate restoration was introduced "to maintain a high standard of service to customers of the participating member lines", said a statement from the five-member group.

Member lines include Cosco, Hamburg Sud, MOL, NYK and Tasman Orient Line.
