Evergreen Line is commencing a new Adriatic-Levant (ADL) butterfly service created through the combination of two existing services, the Adriatic Feeder Service (ADF) and the Intra-Mediterranean Feeder Service (IMS), according to the Shipping Gazette.

The weekly ADL service is intended to cater for both deep-sea feeder and regional traffic. The rotation is Trieste, Koper, Venice, Rijeka, Ancona, Taranto, Dekheila, Limassol, Ashdod, Mersin, Taranto, returning to Trieste.

The Adriatic-Levant service is expected to improve Evergreen Line's offering to its customers by providing new direct connections in the north Adriatic and east Mediterranean markets, a statement from the carrier said.

"Besides the feedering for Far East and north Europe cargo to/from east Med and Adriatic, which will continue unchanged, the added value of ADL Adriatic-Levant butterfly service is to provide our customers with direct coverage between Adriatic and east Med ports, thus allowing us to be more competitive in this specific regional market," a company statement.
The first sailing is scheduled to depart Trieste on September 20. The service is expected to deploy one 2,080-TEU vessel, the Ital Oceano; two 1,422-TEU vessels, the Stockholm and the Singapore; and one 900-TEU vessel, the Uni Assure.
