CMA CGM has announced rate increase

Marseilles-based CMA CGM has announced a rate increase from Asia to north Europe and the Mediterranean of US$250 per TEU from October 1.

CMA CGM, the third largest container carrier in the world, said the increases were necessary to provide the reliable and efficient services customers had come to expect.
The world's No 1 carrier Maersk and the No 2 carrier, Mediterranean Shipping Company, as well as Evergreen, the fourth largest, have also announced rate hikes on cargo bound for Mediterranean recently.
