Malaysia’s MISC Berhad has announced the launch a new service to complement its current Halal Express Service.

The Halal Express Service-Loop 2 (HE2) will directly connect the Far East ports to India and the Middle East region. The service, which is set to commence on September 24, with the inaugural voyage starting from Japan, will meet the growing demand for carriage of Halal produce and products, in line with MISC’s continuous aim to improve its service offerings to customers, says Exim News Service.

The Halal Express Service-Loop 2 will serve the following ports: Yokohama, Nagoya, Shanghai, Xiamen, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Karachi, Port Klang, Singapore and back to Yokohama.

With the new loop, MISC offers the fastest transit from Yokohama, Nagoya and Xiamen to Nhava Sheva and the ports in the Gulf. The service will also offer a direct call from Dammam back to Yokohama, Nagoya, Shanghai and Xiamen, the release points out.

Six 4,500-TEU vessels, equipped with 350 plugs per vessel, have been allocated to the new service. Both the Halal Express Loops 1 and 2 will provide connections to the Red Sea and upper Gulf ports, i.e. Bahrain, Doha, Muscat, Umm Qasr and Shuwaikh, via Jebel Ali.

With extensive agency coverage, MISC is well positioned to meet the current and growing needs of its customers, emphasises the release.
