AP-Moller Maersk logistics now trades under Damco name

AP MOLLER-MAERSK's logistics activities now trade under the name of Damco after merger of its freight forwarding and supply chain management unit and Damco.

"The new brand gives us a stronger platform. We have a strong global coverage with strengths in emerging markets," said Damco chief commercial officer Martin Thaysen.

Damco shipped over 500,000 TEU of ocean freight and more than 60,000 tonnes of air freight and handled over 50 million CBMs last year with a 2008 turnover of US$2.8 billion.

With 272 offices in 93 countries in Africa, Asia, North America, Europe, Middle East and Latin America, and a 10,500-strong workforce, Damco offers supply chain management and forwarding services.
