United Parcel Service Inc. has tapped Eric W. Kirchner as president of Freight Forwarding and picked a senior management team to oversee its freight forwarding, global brokerage and non-asset network management services.
The Atlanta-based package shipper (NYSE: UPS) also named Everette C. Riley president of North American Freight Forwarding and Transportation District and selected Terry Gavin Sambrook vice president of global brokerage.
UPS said the moves are designed to better integrate airline operations with global air freight forwarding services.
Kirchner joined UPS Supply Chain Solutions in 2004 after UPS bought Menlo Worldwide Forwarding Inc., where he was chief operating officer. Since coming to UPS, Kirchner has directed North American freight forwarding and the alignment of partner carriers with new heavy freight regional air hubs and international gateways.
We have a great leadership team here that will align carrier partners across all modes to make it easier for our customers to source products and do business around the world, said Dan Brutto, president of UPS International.
