CARGOTEC has agreed to acquire the assets of Danish sales and service company Arne Holst & Co of Kvistgaard, Denmark with both parties declining to disclose financial details.
The acquisition includes the takeover of business assets and customer contacts, including four employees. The managing director of Arne Holst & Co will continue as a consultant for a transition period, a Cargotec statement said.
Cargotec's main brands for cargo handling are Kalmar, MacGregor and Hiab.
Said Cargotec north European container director Ismo Vaihtamo: "Arne Holst & Co. has been a valued agent and service provider for Kalmar products and parts and for MacGregor lashing equipment for over 20 years. Through the acquisition we strengthen our presence as a service provider and clarify the distribution of our equipment and parts in Denmark."
The assets of Arne Holst & Co. will be integrated into Cargotec's subsidiary Kalmar Danmark.
Recently Cargtec announced the results of the June merger of Hiab and Kalmar. The two business areas are marine, which comprises the current MacGregor business area, and industrial and terminal, which comprises the existing Hiab and Kalmar business areas.
Cargotec said Olli Isotalo will continue to head the marine business as executive vice president, while Pekka Vauramo heads the industrial and terminal business as senior executive vice president.
