EVERGREEN has announced it will increase a rate on westbound traffic between the Far East-Indian subcontinent to Europe of US$200 per TEU for all cargo from September 1.
The price increase said the Taiwanese container shipping line, rated the world's fourth largest, is based on "overbooking" and increasing cargo volume, said the Evergreen statement.
"In view of the increasing operation costs, implementing a further rate restoration programme is necessary to maintain reliable service for customers," said the company.
