CMA CGM adds US$200 per TEU hike on Asia-Europe/Med run

MARSEILLES' CMA CGM has announced a rate increase on Asia to north Europe and Asia to Mediterranean-Black Sea-Adriatic cargo of US$200 per TEU from September 1.

The increase, said the world's third largest container shipping line, was necessary to ensure the "same reliable efficient services to which customers have become accustomed".

The carrier, which had announced similar $200 per TEU rate increases on the trade between the Indian subcontinent and Europe earlier this week, said the new increases are designed to restore rates "a more sustainable level."
