CMA CGM increases rates

Marseilles' CMA CGM has announced rate increases on cargo moving westbound and eastbound between India, Pakistan and Europe as well as Mediterranean ports from September 1, the Shipping Gazette reported.

Westbound cargo India/Pakistan to Europe and the Mediterranean will have a new rate increase of US$250 per TEU and $400 per FEU and 40' high cube.

Eastbound from Europe and the Mediterranean to India/Pakistan will have a rate increase of $100 per TEU and $200 per FEU and 40' high cube.

Said the CMA CGM statement: "In a continued effort to provide customers with the same reliable and efficient services to which they are accustomed, the CMA CGM Group has decided to restore freight rates between India/Pakistan and Europe to a sustainable level."
