Danish Danske Bank has met with heavy criticism from the Danish Shipowners' Association for Smaller Vessels (Rederiforeningen for mindre Skib) arguing that the bank is too restricitve with its lending practices. According to the Association smaller vessels, which usually operate on short routes are under heavy competition from truck tranports on top of suffering as a result of the financial crisis. The Association has previously called on government to guarantee operational credit for small vessel companies but this has not happend and this appeal still stands, Logistics Finland reported.
