Walmart names CMA CGM ocean carrier of year

French shipping giant CMA CGM Group has announced that it has been recently honoured with the 2008-2009 Ocean Carrier of the Year award by Walmart in recognition of its "commitment to excellent service."

According to the world's biggest retailer, CMA CGM received the award based on its ability and willingness to provide efficient value-added services and to offer flexibility when needed through tailor-made solutions.

The award assesses more than 19 service criteria on a monthly basis, including delivery of customer service, documentation, data quality and timeliness, on time vessel performance, responsiveness and flexibility.

Said CMA CGM chief executive vice president Rodolphe Saade: "During this year, one of the most challenging in these economic times, the entire CMA CGM organisation remained committed to put forth the extra effort to meet the very extensive requirements of our customers."
