MSC to increase U.S. inbound BAFs from some European countries

Mediterranean Shipping Co. will next month increase its bunker adjustment factor by $75 per TEU for U.S. imports from Italy, Spain, southern France and Portugal.

Effective April 15, boxes arriving at U.S East Coast ports from those European countries will pay a BAF of $600 per TEU, and $1,200 per FEU. MSC's BAF for West Coast imports will rise to $660 per TEU, and $1,320 per FEU.

These increases are necessary in order for MSC to provide its customers with the timely and efficient cargo transportation services they have come to expect from the Geneva-based company, MSC (USA) Inc. said in a statement.
