Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a joint venture between Wallenius Lines of Sweden and Wilh Wilhelmsen of Norway, has announced that at least one quarter of its fleet will remain in cold lay-up throughout the coming year. The Sweden-based deep-sea roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) specialist said that it had idled vessels with lower lifting ability and higher fuel consumption, and that it was unlikely to reinstate them in the near future. The announcement comes despite some indications of improvement in the market, which has been hit by severe volumes declines, Logistics Finland reported.
