THE LITHUANIAN and Bulgarian shipbuilding associations have become full members of the Community of European Shipyards Associations.

The new members are the Lithuanian Association of Shipbuilders & Ship Repairers (LLSRA) and Bulgarian National Association of Shipbuilding & Ship Repair. They bring the total number of national associations in CESA to 16.

The president of the LLSRA, Arnoldas Sileika, told local reporters that: “Joining this organisation opens up ample opportunities for the members of the LLSRA and will allow it to be involved in forming policy in European shipbuilding and ship repair.

“It will also give us access to the latest information about the world situation in shipbuilding and repair and help us co-ordinate action in the competitive struggle against the countries in South East Asia.”

The Lithuanian LLSRA has 31 companies as its members, for whom a total of 5,200 people work.
