€10 million worth of linkspan orders in Jordan, Morocco and Ireland provide examples of MacGREGOR’s strength in supplying port equipment that can be tailored to suit all operations.
Highlighting its ability to supply RoRo access equipment that can be tailored to suit a port’s specific circumstances, MacGREGOR has recently secured three linkspan contracts totaling €10 million. MacGREGOR has unrivalled experience in developing marine cargo handling and offshore load-handling solutions, and is part of Cargotec Corporation, the world's leading provider of cargo handling solutions used in local transportation, terminals, ports, distribution centres, and ships.
• In Morocco, the contractor SRPTM (Societé de Réalisation du Port de Tanger Mediterranée) has contracted MacGREGOR to supply two linkspans to the new Tanger Mediterranean Ferry port, which is under construction. Out of the eight RoRo berths being built in the port, two will be delivered by MacGREGOR in October. They will be hydraulically-operated and are 15m long by 18m wide at the seaward end.
• BAM Contractors in Ireland has called for MacGREGOR to supply a replacement linkspan in October for the Rosslare ferry port, which is owned by Irish Rail. “The hydraulically-operated linkspan has an impressive width of 34m at the seaward end with an overall length of 29m,” highlights Clas Hedelin, sales manager for MacGREGOR’s land and port systems. “The new facility, located in ferry berth No2, will improve operating logistics for any size of conventional and future RoRo ferry and is attracting major domestic ferry operators as well as operators from UK and the Benelux countries.”
