CITPL receives 3 cranes

Chennai International Terminals Pvt. Ltd (CITPL), a joint venture between PSA of Singapore and Sical Logistics Ltd of Chennai, has received three state-of-the-art post-Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) quay cranes manufactured by Doosan of Korea.

According to Exim News Service, the cranes were towed in by the barge, Posh Giant, which arrived at ChennaiPort recently.

These cranes are amongst the biggest ones to be deployed in any port in the country, with an outreach of 52 m (18 rows across), all with twin-lift capability. The cranes have a SWL of 50 tonnes.

They will be deployed for STS operations.

The vessel agent was Parekh Marine Agencies, while PSTS Logistics was the CHA.

CITPL operates the second container terminal at ChennaiPort.
