Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port down 31% to 3 mln t in Q1 09

In the first quarter of 2009, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port handled 3.003 million tonnes of cargo (-31%, year-on-year), the port’s administration states. In the reported period, crude transshipment increased by 43.5%, year-on-year, to 345,300 tonnes while transshipment of oil products fell by 41.8%, year-on-year, to 1.295 million tonnes. Transshipment of containers fell by 76.5%, year-on-year, to 14,371 TEU, metal – by 30.9% to 342,800 tonnes, coal and coke - - by 72.3% to 100,900 tonnes, mineral fertilizers – by 41.4% to 101,800 tonnes.

In 2008, the port of Kaliningrad handled 15.3797 million tonnes of cargo.
