SOUTHEASTERN China port of Fuzhou plans to strive for a container throughput of 1.3 million TEU and a cargo tonnage of 75 million tonnes by the end of this year.
Xinhua's report said the port will start five new projects this year, including a 150,000-berth in Luoyuanwan port area, Number 1 to Number 3 berth at Kemen port area, Number 0 and Number 3 berth at Songxia port area, 6 and 7 berth at Jiangyin port area and Number 10 liquid chemical terminal.
The Fuzhou city government plans to spend CNY1.8 billion (US$263.6 million) on newly building or upgrading existing facilities this year, involving a total of 24 berths, 15 of which has a capacity of over 50,000 tonnes.
