Chongqing Port January box volume shot 98pc over December

YANGTZE River port of Chongqing handled 27,800 TEU during the first month of this year, increasing by a dramatic 98.2 per cent over December last year.

According to a Xinhua report the total tonnage of the cargoes handled by the port also rose sharply by 95.2 per cent over the prior month to 1.65 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo amounted to 150,000 tonnes, rising 74.6 per cent over December.
