SCT Sharing the Experience of Greening the Terminals on TOC Asia

During March 3 - 5, 2009 TOC ASIA Conference was held in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. As the event supporter, SCT delegation from Operations, IT and Engineering Departments attended the conference as well as the technical workshops. In particular, James Cao, SCT Operations General Manager was invited to make a speech on Greening the Terminal in Terminal Operations and Technology Session.

The speech focused on the implementation of ERTG, provided detailed data on environmental protection and consumption reduction, meanwhile shared with delegates SCT’s strategy on yard capacity enhancing and energy-saving. James’ speech received a positive feedback.. Issues such as diesel and electric power consumption and cost comparison, energy saving equipment alternatives were concerned and discussed by the audience.

Being the first terminal to obtain ISO14001 certification for environmental management and ISO28000 certification for supply chain security management, SCT plays an important role in carrying forward the green terminal concept.
