Maersk to increase rates to US and Latin American ports

DENMARK'S Maersk Line has announced rate increases and restorations between the Mediterranean and North America as well as Asian cargo bound for Latin America.

Rate restoration takes effect on cargo from Asia to Latin America with new rates of $500 per TEU between Asia and the east coast of South America and $300 per TEU between Asia, the west coast of South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Maersk has also introduced increases of US$200 per TEU and $250 per FEU of 40' high cube as well as on 45-footers and reefers on cargo from Italy, Spain and Portugal to the US.
