Kalmar Industries, manufacturer of container and heavy-duty materials handling equipment, has established a new sales company in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Gaston Chipy, previously a Kalmar sales director in South America, has been appointed managing director of the new Mexican firm.
In recent years, Mexico has been subject to a variety of foreign investment projects, particularly in the ports sector. With this development and the consistently positive outlook on the economy, Kalmar remains steadfast in its strategy of shifting its sales and service support closer to its customers operating environments, said Kalmar President Pekka Vauramo.
Kalmar is part of Finland's Cargotec Corp., which also owns marine cargo handling and offshore solutions firm MacGREGOR and on-road load handling company Hiab.
