Feb 27, 2009 Port

Yang Ming is to go ahead with a 2.92m teu box terminal at the port of Kaohsiung, despite the economic downturn.
The company will invest $100m in Chinese handling equipment on the expectation that container traffic will have improved by 2011.
The facility will have four berths and boost the shipping line's capacity in the port by 50%. The company has been granted a 50-year lease, which is renewable.
