SCT introduced advanced equipment MDS to fight against stowaway

To further enhance the terminal security and fight against stowaway, SCT employed the microseism detection system MDS (Movement Detection System) developed by Belgian company S4h, with its subsequent use of carbon dioxide detector and DKL life detectors, to scan suspicious containers.

Shelter for MDS inspection activities will also be set up for more efficient detection. MDS is composed of computer and small vibration sensors, etc., capable to detect any heart microseism of the suspicious stowaway within 30 seconds. The new system features at accuracy, efficiency and user-friendly, namely The second-generation microseism heartbeat detection system, which has been widely used in the United States and the EU countries for port and border anti-illegal immigration activities.

As another guard device of advanced technology newly introduced by SCT, MDS is on now full duty to enhance the terminal security and secure cargo owners’ benefit.
