Zero tolerance boosts PD Ports safety record

Feb 11, 2009 Port

PD Ports, owner and operator of the UK’s third largest port by volume, has recently achieved a full calendar year without any reportable accidents at its short sea port of Howden, on the River Ouse.

With a ‘safety is no accident’ philosophy as one of the Port’s core values, these results, which were achieved between January 08 and January 09, were much welcomed throughout the business.

PD Ports’ team at Keadby on the River Trent, have also now achieved more than 1,000 days with no reportable accidents.

Safety is paramount across the Group and the health and safety of all our staff and contractors remains number one on our list of priorities. We are very pleased to have achieved these results which further add to our already excellent safety record, commented Dave Jones, health & safety manager for PD Ports, Humber.
