Export of oil products via Primorsk port up 2% to 75.6 mln t in 2008

In 2008, oil export via the port of Primorsk grew by 2%, year-on-year, to 75.58 million tonnes. According to Administration of the Sea Port of St. Petersburg, Primorsk Oil terminal LLC exported 74.026.2 million tonnes of oil (-0.3%, year-on-year), BaltTransServis LLC – 1.555.6 million tonnes of diesel fuel. In the reported period, vessel turnover of Primorsk was 1,607 units in 2008.


Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” LLC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberian oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. PBS’s annual capacity as of the date of commissioning was 12 million tonnes. In 2003 PBS’s capacity was increased to 30 million tonnes of oil per year. Today its capacity is 65 million tonnes.
