Gangavaram port will soon start handling iron ore for export. Initially, two rakes of ore for exports are slated to arrive at the port every day, according to a spokesman for the East Coast Railway.
Initially, the handling of the ore will be done manually as the mechanical facility, particularly the tippler, is not yet ready for operation.
It may be recalled that Gangavaram port began handling coal for imports in September 2008, Exim News Service informed.
