Oil port in Kozmino Bay (Far East) to be completed in 2010 – Igor Levitin

Construction of a large oil port in Kozmino (near Nakhodka, Far East) will be completed in 2010, ITAR TASS cites RF Transport Minister Igor Levitin according to Gudok.


The Minister says this large specialized oil terminal being at least 15 meters in depth will be capable of handling tankers of up to 200,000 tonnes in displacement. RF Ministry of Transport builds not only the port but the approach railways as well. Igor Levitin reminded that Russia’s new oil port in the Far East will be the end point of ESPO oil pipeline.

At the initial phase oil will be delivered to the port by railway for further shipment to APR states including Japan, up to 15 million tonnes per year. At the second phase the terminal will be capable of pumping 50 million tonnes. In Primorye, the pipeline will run a total of 570 kilometers.
