PetroChina Company Ltd, the country's largest oil and gas producer, has completed the foundation for storage tanks at its Dalian liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Liaoning province, said its parent China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC)
The project, which involves a total investment of RMB 9 billion, is designed to receive 3 million tons of LNG a year in the first phase of operation. The volume is expected to rise to 6 million tons in the second phase.
The terminal will have an annual gas supply capacity of 4.2 billion cubic meters to be supplied to end users. The first shipment of LNG may arrive around 2010.
