Medvedev signs law specifying powers of RF constituent entities on operation of river ports

RF President Dmitri Medvedev has signed a law specifying the powers of RF constituent entities as regards operation of river ports, PRIME-TASS reports. According to the document, RF constituent entities are to solve issues related to maintenance, development and organization of operation in river ports hosting the property owned by the entity. The document also contains an extended list of property which may be owned by a RF constituent entity in compliance with the Federal Law On General Principles of Organization of Legislative (Representative) and Executive Public Authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

RF State Duma passed the law on November 7, 2008. The Federation Council approved it on November 12, 2008.
