Stevedoring companies of Ust-Luga port cut cargo handling by 2.8% to 5.7 mln t in Jan-Oct 08

In January-October 2008, stevedoring companies of Ust-Luga commercial seaport (Leningrad region) handled 5.692.7 million tonnes of cargo (-2.8%, year-on-year), the port’s Administration states according to Interfax.

Rsterminalugol and timber terminal Factor operate in Ust-Luga. Besides, Ust-Luga handles RosMorPort ferries working at Ust-Luga – Baltijsk service, Gudok reminds.

Newly opened multipurpose transshipment complex Yug-2 designed for ro-ro cargo and Universal Transshipment Complex do not work as border check points are not opened yet.

Ust-Luga port is located in Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. Company Ust-Luga OJSC coordinates the process of attraction investments and creation of structures for construction of terminals.
