Kandla Port explores new expansion areas

Kandla Port Trust has invited bids for four multi-purpose berths at Tuna Tekra, which will be the location of a special economic zone.

The Trust is also looking to develop new facilities at Vadinar, some 260 kilometres from Kandla.

At present, the site is used by oil tankers, but is being explored as a possible development area for containers and dry bulk. Its main advantage is its 34 metre draft.
