New cranes at Petrolesport

Nov 20, 2008 Port

Six new RTG (rubber tyre gantry) warehouse container transfer cranes have been put into service at OJSC Petrolesport’s specialized container terminal.  The equipment was fabricated by the Finnish company Konecranes Heavy Lifting Oy, one of the largest suppliers of port equipment to Russia. The total cost of the new transloaders was about 8.2 million euros.

The new cranes have a capacity of 50 tonnes; their transfer rate is up to 30 operations per hour. The equipment was purchased and delivered under OJSC Petrolesport’s investment program, which is aimed at expanding the company’s productive capacities.

Since the new cranes were put into service, PLP now has a total of 18 RTGs: 6 cranes with a capacity of 40 tonnes and 12 with a capacity of 50 tonnes. Under Petrolesport’s contract with Konecranes Heavy Lifting Oy, two similar warehouse container transloaders with a capacity of 50 tonnes will be delivered to PLP in 2008.
