Euromax container scan

The latest and fastest type of scanner has been installed by Customs at the Euromax terminal. The device has a capacity of 150 containers an hour, as opposed to 20 for the scanner used elsewhere on the Maasvlakte. The difference lies especially in the fact that the driver no longer needs to step out of the vehicle: thanks to new technology, the intensity of the radiation is low. Drivers would have to pass through the scanner 10,000 times a year in order to reach the legal maximum for radiation exposure, while about 50,000 containers are scanned in the whole port each year.
