The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore on Friday signed an three-year $2.4 million agreement with the Institute of High Performance Computing to develop computer-modeling-based programs that would benefit the maritime industry.

IHPC is a research institute under the Singapore government's Agency for Science, Technology and Research. Topics to be considered for funding are semi-submersible jack-up rigs and the application of large-scale computational fluid dynamics, the maritime authority said.
