EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH has acquired a 51 per cent majority share in the rail transport company Floyd ZRt. Based in Budapest/Hungary, Floyd ZRt. has been EUROGATE Intermodal’s Hungarian partner for its boxXpress.hu operations, the intermodal transport link between Hamburg/Bremerhaven and Budapest, since the service was first introduced. By acquiring the majority shareholding in Floyd ZRt., EUROGATE Intermodal now offers its customers an integrated container service from a single source with a focus on a uniform quality standard along the entire transport chain.
EUROGATE Intermodal has been offering the first international intermodal transport link organised on a purely private basis since May 2006. The rail transport companies Floyd ZRt. and TX Logistik Austria GmbH cooperate under the system leadership of boxXpress.de GmbH, Hamburg, also an affiliate of EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH, to assure rail production services.
EUROGATE Intermodal has acquired the shares from András Bogdan, the previous owner. He continues to hold 26 per cent of the shares and will in future assume the role of chairman of the management board of Floyd ZRt. The remaining 23 per cent of the shares are held by ICE Transport Kft, Budapest,
which is also the sales agency for EUROGATE Intermodal in Hungary.
There are currently six boxXpress.hu departures a week between the two German seaports of Bremerhaven and Hamburg and Budapest Bilk. The handling agency in Budapest is boxXagency Kft.
