Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Fishing Port up 3% to 1.97 mln t in Jan-July 08

In January-July, 2008, Kaliningrad Sea Fishing Port FSUE handled 1.975.6 million tonnes of cargo (+3%, year-on-year), the company informs.

Transshipment of mineral fertilizers amounted to 250,300 tonnes +14%, transshipment of oil products down to 1.395.8 million tonnes (-1 % against the same period of the previous year).

In the reported period the port accepted 101,500 tonnes of construction cargo (cement, crushed stone), a 6-fold increase. Export-import of containerized cargo amounted to 131,000 tonnes (+116%).

Kaliningrad Sea Fishing Port is an ice-free port located in the mouth of Pregolya river. The port’s area covers 114 hectares, water area - 28.7 hectares. The oil terminal consists of three complexes. The port is capable of handling over 1,000 Russian and foreign vessels and over 25,000 wagons annually.
