Slovenian port operator Luka Koper sees first half profit dive 27%

Slovenian port operator Luka Koper reported Operating profit rose 21 percent to $24.3 million in the first half of 2008 compared with the previous year, but net profit plummeted 27 percent to $23.4 million.

Operating revenue in the first half was US$103.4 million, up 14 percent year-on-year. The company said net profit dropped due to extraordinary revenues in the first half of 2007.

In the period, the port transhipped 8.1 million tonnes of cargo, an increase of four percent year-on-year.
