Aug 13, 2008 Port

A P Moller-Maersk will take part in an expansion of the Kenyan port of Mombasa to help solve congestion problems, Nordic News Digest reported.

Maersk will install the necessary machinery at two of the port's quays, which the company has recently started to use.

The port saw the number of containers grow by more than 10 percent on the year in June 2008. Their capacity currently totals 585,367 TEUs.

Maersk Line is responsible for about a third of the port's container traffic.
