New Polish container terminal operator DCT Gdansk said Wednesday that it is seeing a steady rise in throughput, which now averages around 10,000 TEUs per month.
The terminal operator also said handling rates are improving as volumes rise, with a recent 907-TEU vessel seeing productivity of 40.5 crane moves per hour and 75 total moves per hour.
Containerships moved to DCT Gdansk in February in order to serve growing demand and secure schedule reliability in intra-European routes, DCT said. The terminal now handles an average of three containership calls per week linking Poland with the United Kingdom and other northern continental European and Baltic ports. The terminal eventually plans to handle deep-sea services.
