Icebreaker Ymer

The icebreaker Ymer pays a visit to 18 different Swedish Ports. During the visit it is possible to get onboard Ymer. First Port of call on this tour is Malmö on July 22nd. A visit to Ymer was possible from 10 o'clock until 4 o'clock. While Ymer was in port a number of representatives from the various maritime sectors explained the possibilities that their company gave. At the pictures you can see the large ice breaker Ymer a quay 600 in the Malmö Freeport. Next to Ymer is the container terminal and you can also see the large Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) London Highway at one of the four New Cars terminals at CMP. In port were also two vessels from United European Car Carriers (UECC) Autorunner and Autoline. Also full block train was in port. Handling of these vessels gave visitors of Sjöfartskaravanen an idea of the busy harbour. Also the two different Nordö vessels that departed and arrived were very visible for the visitors.

Ice breaker 6,908 GT. Length 104,70 meters, width 23,86 meters and draft is 7,08 meters. Ymer arrived Monday at 8 o'clock and when Ymer left 400 had paid a visit to Sjöfartskaravanen.
